Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Search content: the words, product codes and optional location (ZIP code or city) you enter. Recent searches are displayed publicly as product names only, never linked to you.

Photos: if you search by photo, the image is sent to our AI provider to identify the product and is processed in memory only. We do not store your photos.

Device and usage data: IP address (used for security, rate limiting and the daily free limit; stored only as an irreversible salted hash for up to 30 days), browser type, pages viewed and approximate location derived from IP, collected through server logs and, with consent where required, analytics and advertising cookies.

Email (price alerts only): if you create a price alert we store your email, the product and your target price to send the confirmation and price-drop emails. Alerts expire after 90 days; every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and we never sell or share your email for marketing.

Purchases (only if you buy a comparison pack): Lemon Squeezy processes your payment and billing details; we receive the order ID and store a one-way hash of your email together with your credit code. We never see your card.

Precise location: only if you click "Use my location" and allow it in your browser. Your browser sends the coordinates to our reverse-geocoding provider (BigDataCloud) to convert them into a ZIP code or city, which is then used for that search. We do not store your coordinates.

Categories of personal information (US state law terms)

In the last 12 months we have collected: identifiers (IP address, online identifiers in cookies, and email if you create an alert); internet or other electronic network activity (searches, pages viewed, ad interactions); approximate geolocation (from IP or the ZIP code you enter); commercial information (comparison packs purchased); and, only for photo searches, images processed in memory. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

How we use information

To run searches and show results; to send the price alerts you request; to provide purchased credits; to protect the Service against abuse; to measure and improve performance; and to show advertising (including, where permitted, personalized advertising) that funds the Service.

Service providers and sharing

We share information only with providers that help us operate the Service: hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase), AI processing (Anthropic), shopping data providers (e.g., Scrapingdog, eBay), reverse geocoding (BigDataCloud, only if you use your location), email delivery (Resend, only if you create a price alert), payments (Lemon Squeezy, only if you buy credits) and, if enabled, Google (Analytics and AdSense). Google's use of data is described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Affiliate networks and programs (such as Amazon Associates, eBay Partner Network, Skimlinks, CJ, Impact and Rakuten) receive information about clicks on store links (for example, the link clicked, time, and device or cookie identifiers) so that commissions can be attributed. Skimlinks may also run a script on our pages that converts outbound links into affiliate links.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising at https://adssettings.google.com or https://www.aboutads.info.

We do not sell personal information for money. In the last 12 months, identifiers and internet activity may have been disclosed to advertising and affiliate partners through cookies in a way that may be considered "selling" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, or "targeted advertising", under some US state laws. You can opt out at any time (see below). We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.

Your US state privacy rights (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other states)

Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to access, correct and delete it; to obtain a portable copy; and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. Use our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" page or email us.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising for that browser, and the "Do Not Sell or Share" page shows when your signal has been honored.

To make a request, email us from the address you want us to search for (or include the alert or credit code you used). We may ask for information to verify your request. You may use an authorized agent, who must provide proof of your permission. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying with "Appeal" in the subject line within 60 days; we will respond within the time required by your state law. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General.

Visitors from the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Advertising and analytics cookies are disabled by default and only enabled with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Legal bases: consent (cookies), legitimate interest (security, service operation). You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to your supervisory authority.

Retention

Cached search results and the public list of recent product searches: up to 12 months. Server logs and hashed IP addresses: up to 30 days. Price alerts: active until they expire (90 days) or you unsubscribe; you can ask us to delete an alert record at any time. Purchase records (order ID, hashed email, credit code): as long as the credits can be used and as required for tax and accounting. Photos and location coordinates: not retained.

Security

We use HTTPS encryption and reasonable safeguards. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

International transfers

We operate from Guatemala and use providers in the United States and elsewhere; your information may be processed outside your country.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We will post updates on this page with a new effective date.
